Volunteer Success
|
||||||||||||||||||||||
| Two of our volunteers have achieved a great deal in the year that they first joined us. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Vera
is redirecting her life and ambitious to work in an office after being made
redundant from working many years in Industry. She has been at Vale Vision
a year and during that time she has achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Business administration
as well as Level 2 Industry standard certification in Health & Safety.
She also works voluntarily at GL11 in Cam and the Kingshill Community Group.
She achieved recognition as an outstanding learner in the Regional Adult Learner's
awards and she definitely has the learning 'bug' having embarked on an Open
University Course at the University of Gloucester. |

Michael
is also changing direction after an unsettled period in his life. He has been
a very valuable volunteer at Vale Vision, his computer knowledge being put
to good use in setting up systems for Vale Vision, as well as using his interest
in Desktop Publishing to take charge of the 'What's On' and Vale Vision Newsletters.
During the past year he has achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
and is also an Adult Learner Award Winner, not only at Regional level but
also at National level, travelling to London to receive his award. Currently
although living in Bristol whilst he studies for the ABBE Level 4 Diploma
in Home Inspection, he returns to Dursley one day a week to assist in the
Vale Vision shop. He
is currently settling in to the Vale Vision Board as one of our newest Directors. |
